SUPMIA AND UNIQLO: Spring ahead
By Greg Wang
NEW YORK—Its +J collections have been selling out the instant they hit the stores.
Of course it doesn’t hurt that they’re designed by Jil Sander.
Or that they’re made with Supima.
Now Uniqlo looks ahead to spring—-with a store full of Supima.
Among its current promotions: Washable cotton sweaters bannered with “SUPERIOR QUALITY MEETS LONGEVITY. Shape-retaining and still looking new, even after multiple machine washings.”
And table after table stacked with T-shirts under the slogan “LUXURIATE IN THE SUMPTUOUS FEEL OF A PREMIUM COTTON T-SHIRT. Made from 100% top-quality Supima cotton. You’ll recognize the smooth texture and lustrous sheen of Premium Cotton as soon as you wear it.”
But that’s not all.
Still to come: The first delivery of +J for spring/summer, which is scheduled to hit stores later this month.
