SUPIMA’S OPEN CALL: The second day

NEW YORK — It’s almost time to announce the finalists.
The final installment of the two-day open call in Supima’s second Design Contest for Emerging Talent got underway Friday morning at the Thompson Hotel here in SoHo with a panel of judges headed by Supima’s vice president of marketing Buxton Midyette on hand to interview approximately 40 applicants who showed up for the second day.
In the meantime, Italian photojournalist Giulia Piccari, who is documenting the competition, was back at the Thompson Hotel to record the second day of interviews, sketches, and portfolio submissions.
Stay tuned to see which ones make it through the judges’ panel. The finals are scheduled for a live runway presentation at Gotham Hall on January 14, in front of an audience of buyers, editors, stylists, and other fashionistas
