SUPIMA IN THE NEWS: DIFFA’s Dining by Design
By Greg Wang

NEW YORK—The Supima installation caused quite a stir.
In its first-ever participation in “Dining by Design” the annual DIFFA fundraiser attended by the cognoscenti of the fashion, architecture, and interior design worlds, The New York Times /Supima-sponsored booth designed by SHoP Architects became one of the hits of the opening evening.
And, in the week since the event, the Supima/SHoP design, which cleverly capitalized on both the structure of a cotton boll and the softness and luxury of Supima, is already scoring serious press and blog posts galore.
Writing in Metropolis Magazine, the bible of the design world, here’s what Dungjai Pungauthikan had to say about Supima:

SHoP Architects & Supima for The New York Times
Of course this booth was designed by ShoP. Their attention to the structure and tactile quality of the back panels to this dining table shows off what they do best - built environments. The semi-circle configuration tucks away diners from the rest of the crowd. And note, in the last photo, the detail of their laser-cut blossoms.

And, if you missed the New York edition of the event, don’t be discouraged: The 12th National Tour of DIFFA’s Dining by Design is already headed to Kansas City. And, after that comes Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, and San Francisco.
