NEW YORK—September 8 was quite a day for Supima.

Not only was it the opening day of New York Fashion Week and the runway finale of the fourth annual Supima Design Competition (but the first ever held as part of the shows at Lincoln Center).

It also marked the grand opening of BOFFO Building Fashion at 50 Walker Street, the arts-meet-fashion series that boasts Supima as its founding sponsor.

The first in this year’s series: a collaboration between Nicola Formichetti (the creative director of Mugler who’s become best known as the fashion director for Lady Gaga) and architects Gage/Clemenceau, the New York-based practice best known for its innovative use of technology.

And already, the collaboration has drawn press attention from sources as various as the Kansas City Star and Yale Daily News.
