MORE SUCCESS WITH SUPIMA: NAI in Chicago
By Greg Wang
CHICAGO—She’s only 24, but Nadia Ivanova, a finalist in Supima’s 2010 Design Competition, has already graduated from fashion school in London, had a runway show in New York, partaken in charity fashion shows as far afield as the Seychelles, and worked on independent films and commercials in New York and Chicago.
And now she’s on her way to making her NAI line into a success in Chicago.
Tomorrow, September 10, she’ll be showing from 5 to 9 p.m. in the “Night of Fashion” event at Water Tower Place here in Chicago (845 North Michigan Avenue) at the Ava Black store.
What you can expect to see: A collection is inspired by Turkish/Muslim architecture.
Nadia’s concept is to use the lines and shapes of the columns, arches and domes of open mosques built during the Ottoman Empire, with color schemes of soft peach, turquoise, antique white—as well as traditional gray and black.
