By CeCe Shelburne

Gainesville, Georgia native Marlow A. Larson, 22, has been “drawing women ever since I could hold a pencil” and had decided on a design career by the third grade.

At the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he graduated earlier this year with a BFA in Fashion Design, he won a YMA Scholarship and was also a finalist in competitions including Elle Magazine’s Fashion/Next, the Cotton Inc. Scholarship, and the YMA Geoffrey Beene Scholarship.

He calls his Competition collection “a cohesive evening wardrobe: one that could be mixed and matched and restyled” and says “I was initially inspired by all things Art Deco.”

At SCAD, his faculty mentor for the Supima Design Competition was Sachi Honda.

See his capsule collection at 1 p.m. on September 8, when she shows as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Lincoln Center.
