Look who’s coming to the Supima store: AGAVE!
By Nancy Boyd
NEW YORK — Californian Jeff Shafer admits he is obsessed with fabrics.
And that’s why he’s used Supima almost from the start.
Soon after founding Agave in 2002, Shafer took the market for men’s premium jeans by storm, getting the kind of press and product placements that other lines would kill for: TV shows like “Desperate Housewives,” feature films like M. Night Shyamalan’s Lady in the Water, plus the personal wardrobes of prominent actors like Samuel L. Jackson.
At the same time, Agave jeans became a bestseller at the prestigious Forum Group of luxury retailers, as well as Barneys and Nordstrom.
From there, it was onward and upward to women’s wear, a line of knits known as “Agavelux,” and an entire Agave lifestyle collection.
And Shafer has kept right on using Supima wherever and whenever he can.
So when Supima opens its pop-up store here at 72 Greene Street on March 14, you’ll being seeing a “best of the best” collection from Agave.
Including a surprise addition to the Agave line that will be found only at the Supima store.
