COME VISIT US IN PARIS! Booth H2-F108 at Texworld; 5B0-C9 at Expofil
By Nancy Boyd
PARIS—Stateside weather may be wintry but, starting tomorrow, it’s springtime in Paris.
Specifically it will be Spring of 2012, as the worlds of fashion and retailing descend on the City of Light for Texworld and Première Vision Pluriel, the two trade fairs that traditionally determine what the world will be wearing next year.
And, as always, Supima will be there.
This time around, everything gets underway on Monday, February 7 when Texworld opens at the Le Bourget Exhibition Center on the outskirts of Paris promptly at 9:30 a.m.
That’s when you’ll see Supima front and center as part of the huge Cotton Council International booth at H2 F108. (That’s the same section as last time.)
But if you’re getting to Paris later in the week, you can still see Supima—since Texworld lasts through 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10.
In the meantime, Texworld has scheduled a full slate of conferences and presentations, including trend reports from Gianni Bologna of FILO and forecaster Nelly Rodi. (For a full schedule, click here.)
A word to the wise: If you’re not taking the RER and the free shuttle bus from the Le Bourget RER stop then tell your driver the GPS coordinate for the show is “Carrefour Charles Lindbergh, 93350 Le Bourget.”
The next day, Tuesday, February 8, the multi-trade fair extravaganza known as Première Vision Pluriel gets going at the Parc des Expositions in Villepinte, where you’ll find Supima at Booth 5B0-C9 of Expofil, the portion of the fair devoted to fibers and yarns.
While the rest of the fair focuses on Spring (symbolized by a giant, juicy apple), Expofil projects a season still further ahead: Fall/Winter 2012/2013.
This season’s theme? “Dream & Begin”
A final scheduling note: PV will also run through Thursday; although experienced visitors always try to make initial visits earlier in the week, since the last day of the show is traditionally the time when design students descend on the venue.
