August 2016 Update
By Marc Lewkowitz
As we transition into the last month of summer there is much that has happened so far in 2016 with extensive marketing partnerships, a steady influx of new brands using U.S. grown American Pima cotton, a heightened interest in grown and sewn in America and a move to Supima’s new corporate offices. It’s been an exciting first half, but as we prepare for our Annual Meeting on August 31, one thing is clear, we are not close to being done yet.
There is much to look forward to in the coming months.
Our annual Supima Design Competition will once again take the biggest stage in fashion on September 8 during New York Fashion Week and has already been receiving press with our exclusive interview in Women’s Wear Daily.
As our members prepare for the fall harvest in October, the list of brands inquiring about farm visits for our annual Supima Immersion programs are at an all-time high.
Supima is in pre-production for our Spring ’17 coop advertising campaign where we will once again highlight the premium virtues of our American-grown Pima cotton and feature a new group of exciting and relevant brand partners in the pages of the New York Times’ T Magazine.
As demand for Supima continues to develop, our export business has seen steady growth. Textile World Magazine recently featured a story on the opening of English Fine Cottons, a cotton spinning facility in the North West of England where premium cotton is the key ingredient to its business model. The mill recently received its first shipment of cotton, two containers of luxurious Supima Cotton.
We look forward to sharing more details on the above and all of our initiatives during our Annual Meeting at the end of August.
