AND THE WINNER IS???
By Greg Wang
NEW YORK—The challenge?
To create an iconic space for Supima Cotton.
On the High Line, one of New York City’s own iconic spaces.
The winner?
To win the Building Fashion competition announced earlier this summer, the Brooklyn-based design firm will transform the 4,000-square-foot event plaza (currently a staging area for construction near 10th Avenue and 24th Street) with a plywood “flat field” jigsawed by into a landscape based on the botanical profiles of Pima cotton.
The area will also feature moveable cotton-bale seats, allowing varying uses for the space, which is expected to host Fashion Week blowouts, but should also serve as a place for Chelsea to catch their breath.
Or to contemplate the wonders of Supima.
