AN ELECTRIC EVENT: Agave and Richards sponsor Tesla test drive event
By Nancy Boyd
GREENWICH, Conn.—Forward-thinking, premium brands tend to appeal to the same kind of forward-thinking, premium customer.
That was theory behind this afternoon’s Tesla’s test drive event, co-sponsored by Agave jeans and Richards (the super-premium specialty store here in Greenwich that’s a sibling store to Mitchells in Westport).
And, of course, by Supima.
The idea: That customers eager to try out the all-electric Tesla would also want to meet Agave Denimsmith founder Jeff Shafer and get an exclusive preview of his next styles. Which, like the rest of his denim, is made from Supima.
On top of that, a percentage of the day’s Agave sales would be donated to SoundWatersthe leading environmental education group on Long Island Sound.
(Yep, on the right, that’s Jack Mitchell himself, the author of Hug Your Customers, hugging Tesla T-shirted and jeans-clad Agave founder Jeff Shafer.
In fact, if you hurry (and call the number at the bottom of this post), you might still be able to make it to today’s event.
No time left to test drive today? There’s always tomorrow: Marshs in Huntington, New York will hold the event from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
And next weekend, June 13, the event moves to Mitchells in Westport, Connecticut, where it’s scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
